| The Barksdale House Inn
is the best value in Charleston for weekends,
high-season or low. Their 7-day/week rates
are competitive during the week with Queen
rooms at $149 off-season and $179 peak. On
the weekend, these same rates are the best in
town. There is simply no other property that
offers a Queen room on a high-season weekend
for $179. The Parking is included and is very
convenient. You don't have to walk across the
street or through a huge parking garage. You
don't have to bother with valet or tipping
the attendant. It's right on the property so
your car will be less than 50 feet from your
room.
All of the rooms have
private baths and several have fireplaces.
There are ten rooms in the main house, and
four carriage house rooms. Their most
expensive room on the weekends is only $205.
It's on the first floor and has a King canopy
bed, fireplace and a whirlpool tub. For
breakfast, you can have pastries, fruit,
coffee/tea, and juice delivered to your room
or you can have it served downstairs on the
Veranda. The location is very convenient.
It's only about a ten minute walk to the city
market, and you're closer to the South
Carolina Aquarium, The Visitors Center, The
Charleston Museum, and the Wharf that you'd
be if you were staying right on the
market.
The beds have rich
Egyptian cotton sheets, and each room has a
telephone, central air with individual room
controls, and TV with Cable. So no window air
units, no shared baths, nothing unusual. Just
a decent room, a good location and a great
price.
