Kiawah Island Kiawah Island is mostly
private. There is a very nice park near the
entrance to the residential community that
provides public access and parking for
non-residents. The Island Course was home to
the Ryder Cup in 1991. The lodging is mostly
vacation rental homes, both houses and villas.
There is also The Sanctuary at Kiawah Resort.
We had the opportunity to tour The Sanctuary
and I'd like to tell you, whatever claims that you hear or read
can't compare to what you'll experience. It is
obscenely excessive and opulent and undoubtedly
worth every penny. There are two ocean view
restaurants, a state of the art spa facility,
and every amenity imaginable designed to spoil
all six of your senses.
